Can I contact you whenever I need you?

Each client will have slightly different needs and will therefore require slightly different hours from me. Some clients might send me a project per week to complete on my own time and be done with it. Some may want to check in with me daily, or require me for tasks that require more frequent communication. Whatever those needs are, hours of operation for my end of the business will be set. It is not my goal to be "on the clock" every hour of the day; it is also not optimal for me to be rigid with my hours of operation when flexibility is the name of the game!

You can certainly send a message to Slack or send an email when a thought strikes you at 2 in the morning. But I will be responding to it during my own business hours :)

 

Why did you decide to become a copywriter?

My true ambition in life is to be a storyteller: I am an actor and an author. Being a copywriter enables me to create my own work schedule so that I can work efficiently to pay my bills and also have time to give to my craft. Getting a call the day before for an audition is essentially pointless in a traditional 9-5, whereas I can shift my day around to go to an audition if I am in charge of my own schedule.

I also desperately want to travel. I have nothing keeping me in one place: no partner, no kids, no pets. The only reason I can’t go to Scotland for 3 weeks is because I have to work. But if I can take my work with me, I can go to Scotland. It might take some planning with my clients so that we can communicate, but my clients will be happy for me that I get to experience something amazing and come back with the new perspective and fresh creative energy that travelling provides.

 

Are you accepting new clients?

As of August 2022: YES! My goal is to have several clients who each require a handful of hours at a time from me. This allows me to maintain flexibility in my schedule.
